Day 6: Minor ear infection and panic attacks

To be cured by diazepam and Haribo. And cider on Thursday perhaps. Nevertheless I shall resume this project on Friday, by which point the chest pains should have gone and the insatiable hunger and liver will be sated.

Day 4: Locked out

We managed to lock ourselves out of the house yesterday, and had to pay a man £96 to basically prise our door open with something that looked like an outsized set square. Consequently the stress drove us to drink, and the drink drove me to food. It's not a huge problem but it's probably worth mentioning.

Didn't go to the gym and didn't do weight training so that's double weight training for me today.

Food
Beef burgers, cider, crisps. Yeah, I know, and it's only day 4. Must try harder.
Gym
Nothing!

Day 3: Map overload

I made a lot of maps at work today, consequently I can't quite be bothered to track my progress for the day but it's in my spreadsheet so will update in more detail.

Food
Smaller portion of beans on toast, chicken sandwich and 1/2 bag of roast chicken crisps, chocolate brioche, another chicken sandwich with reggae sauce, 1 can of cider. Carb overload. I likey.

Gym
Went a bit too late to get my full hour in but was better than not moving at all
12mins on Treadmill (76 cals, 1.05km, 0 gradient, 5.13 km/h or 3.19mph)
19 mins on Bike (156 cals, 6.65km, effort level 5, 21 km/h or 13mph)
13 mins on Cross Trainer (141 cals, 0.75km, effort level 4, 3.39 km/h or 2.11mph)

Totals
Treadmill: 5.43km
Bike: 20.73km
Cross Trainer: 2.91km
Combined: 29.07km

Day 2: Beans on toast and Russell Brand

Work was better than usual today, as I rediscovered some Russell Brand podcasts on my iPod and listened to them instead of the usual bland contemporary pop that has become a fixture in my day. I had a HUGE helping of beans on toast for lunch too. All was well. Am getting through the general snack cravings with chewing gum and tea, which is working very well for now.

Food
Beans on toast, 3 quorn chilli wraps, chocolate brioche. Apparently that all comes to 23 points, I'm not convinced, but I'm not hungry either, so we won't worry about it.
Gym
20 mins + 9 mins dawdling to watch Eastenders on Treadmill (148 + 50 cals, 1.87 + 0.73km, 0 gradient, 5.61 km/h or 3.49mph) Pace does not count the 9 mins extra dawdling.
20 mins - & learned a new word - on Recumbent bike (156 cals, 6.78km, 5 effort level, 20.34 km/h or 12.64mph)
20 mins Cross trainer (203 cals, 1.07km, 4 effort level, 3.21 km/h or 1.99mph)
10.45km from all of them.

Heart rate is constantly sky high again, I guess that's what I get for skipping the gym for a month. To raise fitness I'm doing what I was supposed to initially do for my 5k training, 1 min running + 1 min walking. OK I'm not, I'm doing 30secs jogging and 1 min walking to recover, but considering my heart rate goes up to about 180 after 30 secs it's probably wise not to rush things. My poor old heart. It's a shame those beta blockers made me wheeze.

Finally I think I might stick to the recumbent bike as I don't keep slipping off it.

Running totals
Treadmill: 4.38km
Bike: 14.08km
Cross Trainer: 2.16km
Total: 20.62km

Day 1: About Bloody Time

Hello I'm Nat, I'm 23, I'm absolutely massive and climbing the stairs makes me wheeze. Welcome to my all-new online weight loss journal. I've defected from LiveJournal in order to not bore my f-list with further moaning about my diet and gym habits. I doubt anybody's going to be interested in this - people start weight loss journals every day - but I'll try to keep it exciting with interactive maps, charts and tables and things. I might even throw in a musings on all the fun things I get up to. But anyway, weight loss...

Diet: Weight Watchers (24 points a day, or 168 points a week)
Gym: Body for Life eventually, but I think I'll start with 3 gym sessions this week and see where that leads me. At least 20 minutes cycling, 20 minutes walking, 20 minutes cross training - plotting maps so it looks like I'm getting somewhere. My last attempt at this is here:

I think I might start again. This is going to sound completely nuts but I like to aim high - the cycling can be from LA to NY (that looks like that's going to take about 7 years), the cross training can be from Preston to London, the walking can be from Lands End to John O'Groats. But we'll start with Preston to Prenton for all three.

And I've called this The Pop Star Project as I aim to lose enough weight so as to be comfortable as a live performer again. Working title was Project Rockstar, but then I remembered that was an internet game. So The Pop Star Project it is. Aside from wanting to do music again but not wanting to be known as the fat one, I also want to walk the London Loop in a relatively short amount of time next summer. And I'd really like all my old clothes to fit me. That is all.
